Key point. An llms.txt file is a short Markdown index of your most useful pages, served at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. Fill in the form below and the file is written as you type, ready to copy or download. Nothing leaves your browser.
What goes into an llms.txt file?
The format published at llmstxt.org has four parts, and the generator writes them in order:
- one H1 line with your company or site name;
- a one-line blockquote summary of what you do, for whom and where;
- an optional note for AI systems;
- sections of links, one per line: a Markdown link to the page's full https:// address, a colon, then what the page covers.
Most sites list 8 to 30 pages and put the rest under an Optional section, which the format reserves for links that can be skipped when space is short.
How do I publish the file?
Upload it to the root of your site so it opens at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt, delivered as plain text over HTTPS. Then paste it into our llms.txt validator to check the format before you rely on it.
Where can I read more about llms.txt?
Our guide to llms.txt explains what the file is, real examples and how to set it up, and the same generator runs inside it.

Eight to thirty is typical. Put your most useful pages in the main sections and the rest under Optional.
Can I edit the file after I download it?
Yes. It is plain text. Edit it in any text editor, then check it again with the validator.
